I have learned a lot of new knowledge about ICT through this course. It can not be denied that ICT is very important in teaching and learning process recently. Studying ICT, open my eyes that ICT really helps educators in making their lesson more attractive and more interesting. There are variety of teaching methods and software which can be accessed easily from the internet. Selecting the most suitable teaching and learning software should be based on students' level of performance.
Development of e-portfolio
I found that developing e-portfolio teach me how to organise my filing system. I can write my teaching philosophy, reflection and keep my lesson plan in my blog. Besides that, I can share my knowledge with others and experience how to develop my own blog. At the beginning of the lesson, I was so worried that I could not make it. But now I realise that it is not too difficult to develop my blog as my lecturer, Dr. Sadiah and my colleagues helped me so much. I want to thank them for giving advise and corrected me if I did wrong. My group members, Tetraeduchem Group gave a lot of cooperation and support to develop the group's blog. They will try their best to help me if they could anytime.
Data logging
Data logging is a device which can store a series of measurements over time, usually from a sensor that converts a physical quantity such as temperature, pressure, relative humidity, light, resistance, current, power, speed, vibration into a voltage that is then converted by a digital to analog converter (DAC) into a binary number. Data logging hardware may have several DACs for multiple simultaneous measurements. The hardware usually connects to a parallel port, serial port or USB port on a PC. I found that data logging is very useful in laboratory and user friendly. Experiment which takes more than one hour can be left for nights because some of the experiments requires us to observe the process like seed germination. By using data longging in laboratory, students will be able to record more than one data at one time as it can be connected to three USB ports. They can see the changes occur through the process and learn that many factors involve in the process. Teacher can make the lesson more meaningful and increase students' interest by using data logging.
